This collection of birth stories is put together thanks to the mothers and fathers who wanted to share their moments of empowerment, faith, love and triumph in bringing their babies into the world. I have divided it into two segments - hospital and home - simply for ease of navigation.
However, it does not mean that a hospital birth is any less empowering than a homebirth. I birthed my first daughter in a hospital and it was just empowering as my second daughter's birth, albeit for different reasons. Most women find a homebirth more sacred, empowering and triumphant - for obvious reasons - but what's more important is that the father and mother take responsibility for the decisions that are made in their birth, and they made the effort to greet their babies earthside in the most gentle and loving manner.
